(Valero) Texaco Star Rewards – Gift Fulfilment

The Company

Valero Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of Valero Energy Corporation, market Texaco in the UK market. Texaco are one of the world’s most recognised brands and have 850 Texaco-branded service stations in the UK alone. Their ‘Star Rewards’ incentive scheme rewards drivers every time they refuel, earning 1 point for every litre they use.Points can be redeemed against a variety of rewards, vouchers and charitable donations.

Their Challenge

"Need for an approved supplier"

Valero required the bulk supply of Apple iTunes vouchers for the Texaco Star Rewards incentive scheme. After Valero contacted Apple’s corporate gifting division, they were advised that they would need to partner with an Apple approved supplier to purchase stock, authorise the promotion and have the artwork signed off under Apple’s terms and conditions.

The Solution

"Support throughout the process"

As an approved supplier of Apple products within the promotions and incentive industry, Apple acted at an agent between Valero and Avinity. We were able to advise Valero about the parameters of Apple’s supply, incentive and artwork terms and liaise with them on Valero’s behalf beforefinal sign-off. Because of our successful history as an Apple approved supplier, we were able to anticipate any issues before they occurred, meaning a smooth transition towards full approval and sign-off by Apple.

The Result

"£10,000 redemptions per period"

Avinity liaised with Apple around promotional artwork proofs before completing sign-off on the campaign, authorising Texaco Star Rewards to use iTunes vouchers as one of their redemption offerings. Avinity typically supply Texaco Star Rewards customers with £10,000 iTunesvouchers per redemption period. Without Avinity’s expertise and approved supplier status, Texaco Star Rewards would be distinctly lacking in such a renowned brand.
